Doug Swanson is new to the district this year teaching Academic Skills Classes with a focus on helping students in need of tutoring in a wide range of the Sciences. He has coached other High School level athletics but will be new to coaching hockey at DSHS.
Doug was first introduced to the game of hockey as an adult when his stepson started playing. Within a short time Doug became a youth coach and got involved in officiating. Over 15 years he progressed as a referee ultimately working at the Youth, Junior and College levels in the Cleveland area and served as a linesman in semi-professional games in the East Coast Hockey League.
Doug's unique perspective being on the ice with many elite players will be beneficial in helping DSHS players progress with their understanding of the game and it's playing rules.
