A second option for you is to try out for the Dublin Irish Club hockey team. For information about Dublin Irish, see the next column.

Future Dublin Irish High School Players

Hello Future Irish Player!!

The Dublin Irish are a high school level club hockey team which operates under the Ohio Scholastic Hockey League. As such, the team does not have to comport to the OHSAA rules for ice hockey. The team operates under USA Hockey regulations.

The Future Irish is a group of players who plan to be part of the Dublin Irish family in their future. This group plans events and is a fun support for anyone who plans to be a future Irish player. You can get more information by going to their page at the link below.

Rising Freshman

As players transition from eighth grade to freshman in high school, the world of high school hockey starts for them. We encourage all eighth graders to start getting involved and signing up to get information by directly contacting their team trustees or by going to the link in the next column if they have not already done so.

High school hockey opportunities start for rising freshman in the summer. DHSHA sponsors summer league hockey teams from June through July. This is an opportunity for rising freshman to start playing at a high school level in a non-checking 5 on 5 league. The league is run through the Chiller Ice Rinks and requires USA Hockey registration.

DHSHA also provides rising freshman the opportunity for additional ice touches by sponsoring summer skates which is a once weekly practice. These skates also occur in the months of June through July.
